This is Why Hampshire College is Awesome
April 29, 2010 PART OF:
Musings Kevin Cline created a video asking Hampshire College students to describe their Division III project. Hampshire eschew majors in place of self-created concentrations. (It also eschews grades, requirements, and oftentimes shoes.) The Division III is like a Master's Thesis for undergrads, a year-long project that you make up, the completion of which confers graduation.
My Division III was a 160 page paper on The Encyclopedia Project and Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit. Sounds douchier than it was. I think. I hope.
